Pitt County Head Start in Greenville, North Carolina, recently completed a major playground resurfacing project, enhancing safety and playability across their three playgrounds. Each playground now features brand new PIP (poured-in-place) rubber surfacing in the fall zones of all existing play equipment, ensuring a safer and cleaner play environment.

Trike play is a popular at many daycare centers, so we also included a PIP trike path in a contrasting color at each playground. This addition not only provides an aesthetically pleasing accent but also offers children a dedicated path to ride their trikes and spark their imagination.

We also installed artificial turf in all non-fallzone areas. In doing so, we were able to correct drainage and eliminate areas of standing water. These turf space will stay looking beautiful year round and decrease lawn care and facility maintenance.

Additionally, we addressed issues with two previously installed PIP pads that had deteriorated prematurely due to improper installation by others. By applying a new top course of PIP rubber, we were able to repair cracks and significantly improved the durability of these pads moving forward.
