We worked with Westminster Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, to design a holistic playground that enhances overall child development. The result is a vibrant natural play space that seamlessly blends traditional and natural elements.

The centerpiece of the playground is a custom natural play side hill, designed to inspire active play and exploration. This feature includes hop rocks, climbing boulders, and slides embedded into the hillside, helping children develop essential gross motor skills while they play. The natural contours and materials of the play side hill provide a dynamic and adventurous experience, encouraging physical activity in a safe and stimulating setting.

To further enhance imaginative play, we incorporated a meandering trike path that weaves throughout the playground. This path not only adds visual interest but also invites children to embark on their own adventures. Along the trike path, interactive play panels like a fire station, fruit stands, and playhouses simulate a mini-city, allowing kids to engage in role-playing and develop their social and communication skills.

Featuring architectural shades, a natural outdoor learning center, and sensory play elements, this project demonstrates how natural play features can effectively enhance and complement conventional playground equipment, creating a more engaging and educational environment for children.
